WELCOME TO PRIMARY 7
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
It was smiles all round on the first day of term for our new Primary 7 pupils.
PDMU - RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL
P7 enjoyed working in groups to sort and prioritise the rights of the child. They worked in teams to match rights and responsibilities and negotiated well to create a fantastic class charter for the year ahead.
PRIMARY 7 TAKES MATHS OUTDOORS
As part of our length topic the P7 pupils enjoyed practical real life estimating and measuring activities in out outdoor environment. They used a range of measuring tools and equipment and recorded their findings.
MATHS WEEK
P7 engaged in a variety of active, practical and fun activities throughout the week to develop our love for Maths. The kids worked well as part of a team to master the online Mega Maths Quiz hosted by Franz Schwindlein. They followed this up with a varied selection of matchstick puzzles and finished the week on a high with the very popular Blooket Class challenges!
HALLOWEEN
E-SAFETY POSTERS
Following on from the E-Safety Workshop on Monday, Primary 7 have produced some fantastic posters with key messages they took away.
CHRISTMAS MARKET TRIP
Primary 7 enjoyed a great day out in Belfast. First up was a guided tour of City Hall, where the pupils learned about the history of the building and got an opportunity to visit the Council Chamber. This was followed by a Christmas Market experience allowing the children to learn about the language, food and culture of the traders and countries represented. The kids got to sample a variety of fine cuisine along the way. To top the day off the kids enjoyed going on a shopping spree around the markets and hopefully formed lasting memories for years to come.
CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
Primary 7 completed a variety of activities to celebrate Mental Health Week. They particularly enjoyed the Imoves dance activities and finished the week with a lovely mood walk around our school surroundings.
The pupils had a fantastic trip at Woodhall, Kilrea. They engaged in a variety of fun filled activities over the course of out trip. We are so proud of the bravery, determination and resilience displayed throughout the trip. They are a credit to their families and we hope they have made memories to last a lifetime.

FR PJ'S VISIT
Primary 7 invited Fr PJ McCamphill to their class yesterday to learn about the history of our parish. We were amazed by the information that Father shared with us and learnt so much. We were particularly interested in the Mass Rocks that existed in Dunloy around 400 years ago and are looking forward to carrying out further research. Many thanks to Fr PJ for sharing his knowledge and stories with us.
PRIMARY 7 RETREAT
P7 had an amazing retreat day in preparation for their Confirmation. The day started with a very interesting workshop hosted by Frances from the Young Pioneer Association. This was followed by a very special day led by the Franciscan Friars. The children engaged in activities to strengthen their relationship with God. They focused on the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and strengthened their understanding of the Holy Spirit. We were well and truly spoilt with a fantastic lunch, followed by a visit from the ice cream man, many thanks to Father Devlin. We finished the day in a very special way in the chapel, where the brothers led us in spiritual prayer and provided a penitential service. Many thanks to Father Devlin for organising such a special day for the boys and girls and gifting the very special blessed rosary beads to each of them. We extend a warm welcome and thanks to the Franciscan Brothers for hosting a very unique day for the kids.
WORLD BOOK DAY
Primary 7 marked World Book Day by participating in a fun class quiz. The children selected a book for the Eco Book Fair to take home and enjoyed time reading and listening to stories. As art of our work for World Book Day the pupils created their very own Book Covers using Adobe Express to enhance their work
