WELCOME TO PRIMARY 3
SEPTEMBER 2024
Primary 3 have got off to a great start. We have had lots of fun settling into our new class and getting to know each other.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY
Primary 3 enjoyed taking part in some mindfulness activities for Mental Health Awareness Day. We coloured in, went for a nice walk, made some buns and finally relaxed with some juice and biscuits.
AMBER
Primary 3 have an exciting visitor in their classroom. Amber is a special puppy who will be spending the year in Primary 3. We have already enjoyed giving Amber lots of snuggles. We are working with Fresh Minds Education to deliver ‘The Sunrise Programme’. This is a fun, interactive programme to help the children with emotional regulation, mental health and wellbeing. Amber will be well looked after in Primary 3!
ODD SOCKS DAY
Primary 3 enjoyed designing their own odd socks for Anti-Bullying week.
'BAARMY BETHLEHEM' PREPARATIONS
'BAARMY BETHLEHEM'
Well done to our fabulous Primary 3 children who took us on an entertaining journey to ‘Baarmy Bethlehem’ today. We are so proud of you all
P3 TRIP TO ARTHUR COTTAGE
The sun was shining for our Primary 3 children today as they enjoyed a trip to Arthur Cottage in Cullbackey. They discovered a lot of facts about homes in the past as part of their World Around Us topic ‘Houses and Homes’ before finishing off the day at the People’s Park in Ballymena.
OUTDOOR PLAY
Primary 3’s have been enjoying their brand new outdoor toys. We were able to buy these with the money raised from our Brewing Connections Coffee morning. Thank you to all the P3 parents for kindly donating the buns.
FRACTIONS
We are learning about fractions in P3. We counted sets of smarties and investigated how to find half of a number and a quarter of a number.
WORLD BOOK DAY
We came to school dressed in our comfy clothes. We found lots of comfy spots in our classroom for reading. We really enjoyed the book swap and everyone went home with a new book to read.
AMBER
Primary 3’s had a lovely morning at our Amber Graduation. They have been doing a super job looking after their class ‘puppy’ Amber who has helped them understand how to deal with tricky feelings and learn different ways to make their bodies and minds feel better.
PAIRED READING
We have been enjoying a paired reading programme with the P6’s. We went outside to enjoy the sunshine and read some books with our P6 reading partners.
