ON OUR DOORSTEP: EXPLORING DOOEY’S CAIRN
As part of our topic On Our Doorstep, P6 have been learning all about Dooey’s Cairn – a fascinating Neolithic burial site located right here in our local area. We explored its history, structure, and significance, discovering how people lived thousands of years ago. To bring our learning to life, we went on a field trip to visit the site in person. It was an amazing experience to stand where ancient people once stood and see the cairn up close. We’ve come away with a deeper appreciation of the rich heritage that’s right on our doorstep!

PRIMARY 3 AND 4 - SCHOOL IS COOL

As part of our topic â€˜School Is Cool’, we’ve been exploring what schools were like in the past. We were delighted to welcome Mrs Moira McAlonan, a former principal of St. Joseph’s, who shared fascinating stories from her time at the school. The children were captivated by her memories and enjoyed learning how school life has changed over the years. Her insights and experiences gave us a wonderful glimpse into the past.
