WELCOME TO PRIMARY 4

📚✨ PRIMARY 4 ARE MULTIPLYING THE FUN! ✨📚
This week, our Primary 4 pupils have been exploring the exciting world of multiplication through hands-on learning! 🎲🧮
From grouping counters, making lots with multi-link and using Numicon to create arrays, the children have been busy discovering how multiplication works in real life. These practical activities help build strong foundations and make learning meaningful and memorable! 💡🙌
📐✨ MATHS WEEK IRELAND FUN IN PRIMARY4! ✨📐
This week, our Primary 4 pupils have been diving into the wonderful world of 2D shapes! 🔺🟦⚪
From shape hunts around the school to creating shapes in PE, we've been exploring quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, octagons and regular and irregular shapes — all while building our maths skills and having lots of fun! 🎨🧠
Maths Week is all about celebrating how exciting and creative maths can be — and our P4s are proving just that! 💡
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY
We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating World Mental Health Awareness Day in Primary 4. We enjoyed a lovely treat of juice and biscuits along with a chilled afternoon in our class.
SCHOOL IS COOL
As part of our topic ‘School Is Cool’, we’ve been exploring what schools were like in the past. We were delighted to welcome Mrs Moira McAlonan, a former principal of St. Joseph’s, who shared fascinating stories from her time at the school. The children were captivated by her memories and enjoyed learning how school life has changed over the years. Her insights and experiences gave us a wonderful glimpse into the past.
📊 EXPLORING DATA HANDLING 📊
Primary 4 have been diving into the world of data handling. They’ve been learning how to collect information, organise it using tally charts, and present it clearly in bar charts.
The children loved working together to gather real-life data and then turning numbers into colourful charts.
🌟 POETRY MAGIC 🌟
We took a lovely walk outside to explore the world around us and gathered feelings, nouns, and adjectives inspired by what we saw, heard and felt.
Back in the classroom, the children used their wonderful word collections to create their very own Feelings Poems. 💛📚
They showed amazing creativity, teamwork and imagination! Well done, P4! 👏💕

PRIMARY 4 ASSEMBLY - BELONGING
Last week, our wonderful Primary 4 pupils took to the stage for their assembly all about Belonging — and what a performance it was!
The children sang beautifully, danced with confidence, and performed thoughtful sketches that showed just how much they belong to their families, their school, and their wider community. Each child shone in their own way, reminding us all that belonging is about being valued, included, and celebrated.
We are incredibly proud of every single one of them. Well done, Primary 4!
