The Eco-Schools programme provides opportunities to promote sustainable living and foster an environmental awareness throughout the school. We aim to link our actions through opportunities in curriculum subjects.

Our major topic this year has been to develop the awareness of biodiversity, waste and litter within our school community. Alongside these topics we encourage the school community to continue with our aims to 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' and remain as energy efficient as possible. We also try to provide opportunities for the children to become familiar and learn about current environmental issues through our WAU topics, curriculum links and engagement with outside agencies.

We would like to thank Edel Burke from RES (Renewable Energy Solutions) for coming into school to talk to the Primary 7 pupils about renewable energy sources and her job as Project Manager. We had a very informative morning - thank you!
