Another week and another full trolley! Our school council have been overwhelmed at the generosity shown by our community to support their initiative! A big thank you to everyone so far. If you would still like to donate you have until Wednesday morning before the trolley will be wheeled out to Ballymoney Foodbank.

Primary 1 have been working very, very hard and solving lots of fun problems.

WORLD BOOK DAY

Primary 1 had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day.

PRIMARY 4 SCIENCE/MATHS INVESTIGATIONS

Primary Four are learning about the Solar System. They made the most of the sunshine this week and carried out a Science/Maths investigation. Their question was ‘How big is the Solar System?’. They worked in groups and used metre sticks to measure how far each planet was from the sun. We are so proud of their fantastic work!

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

Congratulations to all our Primary 3 children who celebrated their Sacrament of First Reconciliation in St. Joseph's Chapel last night. Thank you to our priests & families who made the night very special for everyone.

FIRE SAFETY TALK

Thank you to the firemen from Ballymoney Fire Station who gave our Primary 5 children a very informative talk on Fire Safety.

SCIENCE WEEK

Key Stage 2 enjoyed celebrating Science Week by participating in a range of exciting experiments. A special thanks goes to our past pupils Conor, Eoghan, Paudie, Joe and Cahir who helped facilitate the Science Workshop.

Primary 5 read a fantastic novel to mark World Book Day. They then carried out some investigations to make their very own potions for Science Week.

Well done to our Primary 7 pupils who played in the Cumann na mBunscol games during half time of the Antrim v Tipperary Senior NHL game at the weekend.

SCIENCE WEEK
We have been celebrating Science Week and World Book Day in school this week. We decided to combine the two occasions and deliver Science Through Stories.

Key Stage 1 had brilliant fun completing science experiments through the stories of ‘The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch’ and ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. There is most certainly a few future scientists in the making.
FOODBANK DRIVE
Only the second full week of our Lenten Foodbank Drive and the School Council are in disbelief at the generosity shown by everyone so far.

We had hoped to perhaps fill our trolley once a week but today marked our *4th* full trolley of the initiative already! Thanks to everyone for their kindness and generosity so far and let’s keep filling the trolley for the next few weeks before our Easter break.

MCCURDY'S POTATOES

Thank you to Ryan from McCurdy's Potatoes for supplying us with seed to allow us to plant and grow our own potatoes. We hope to have our first crop in June.

Half-Time Games

Well done to our Primary 7 boys who played yesterday at half time during the Antrim and Westmeath game at Corrigan Park.

EARLY START TO SCIENCE WEEK

Primary 5 have made an early start to Science Week. They were looking at Egyptian reed boats as part of the topic Ancient Egyptians. They had to plan, construct and test their own straw boats. Lots of learning, problem solving and teamwork.

PRIMARY 5 MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
Charlie Mackesy the famous author and illustrator of ‘The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse’ took some time to look at the very special quotes and drawings, created by our Primary 5 children, to mark Mental Health Week.
He was so impressed he rang the school to let the children know he loved them all and to tell them they are a very talented bunch of children. He even shared one of the drawings, by Mia, on his Instagram.
We are delighted and would like to say thank you!
