CELEBRATING FR. DARRREN

The whole school attended mass on Thursday to celebrate and thank Fr. Darren for the spiritual guidance he has given our school over the last 5 years and to wish him good luck in his new parish.

SCIENCE WEEK

Primary 5 started Science Week early. They were looking at Egyptian reed boats as part of the topic Ancient Egyptians. They had to plan, construct and test their own straw boats. Lots of learning, problem solving and teamwork.

 

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS

We would like to thank Edel Burke from RES (Renewable Energy Solutions) for coming into school to talk to the Primary 7 pupils about renewable energy sources and her job as Project Manager. We had a very informative morning - thank you!

GAELFAST FOOTBALL DAY

Our Primary 4 girls had a fantastic day playing football. Thank you to Gaelfast for facilitating another enjoyable day for our children.

PETER'S HENS

A big thank you to Aidan Clifford  for bringing in some hens to show Primary 3&4 as part of their Up, Up, Up and Away WAU topic. We really enjoyed finding out more about their habits and we are looking forward to sampling some of ‘Peter’s Eggs’ next week!

PEACE PROMS 2024

What a fantastic evening for our P5-7 children who participated in Peace Proms 2024 last night at The SSE Arena. Here's a a video snippet of our Peace Proms preparation and participation. The children have to be congratulated for all their hard work. They had a wonderful time and gained a lot from the experience. Thank you also to all the parents who came along to support.

FLAHAVAN'S CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE FINAL

Well done to Caoilbhe and Ronan for competing in the Flahavan’s Primary School Cross Country League Final this morning at Mallusk Playing Fields, Belfast. They both put in a fantastic performance and should be very proud!

FOODBANK DRIVE
Peter Rowland from the Ballymoney Foodbank came to speak to our KS1/KS2 children to explain about the good work being completed by his team in our local area. The Ballymoney Foodbank helps families within a 5 mile radius of their base in Ballymoney.
 
Our school will be running a 'Foodbank Drive', collecting non-perishable food donations, to help those who need it in our locality. All non-perishable food donations are welcome and must have a date stamp of at least 1/05/2024 or after.
 
Well done to our School Council for implementing this very worthwhile initiative.

Primary 5/6 children took part in the Cumann na mbunscol Antrim Fun Games held today in Dunloy Academy. Thank you to everyone involved. The children had a fantastic day!
